
Deputy Shot Suspect After Being Struck With Vehicle
A suspect has been shot after allegedly attempting to flee the scene of a police investigation in Putnam County, NY.
A member of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office has been sent to the hospital after being struck by a suspect vehicle that attempted to flee the scene of an investigation. The suspect was reportedly shot during the incident and was also sent to a local hospital to receive treatment.
Law Enforcement Struck by Suspect Vehicle in Southeast, NY
According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Facebook page, it all started on Monday, November 24th, 2025, at approximately 8:35 p.m. while members of the Sheriff’s Office were conducting an investigation on Sodom Road in the Town of Southeast, NY.

During the investigation, an unidentified suspect attempted to flee the scene and, in the process, struck a member of the sheriff's office with a vehicle.
Suspect Shot in Putnam County, NY
Police said that the PCSO member who was struck by the vehicle discharged their firearm and shot the suspect. The suspect was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for a gunshot wound. The injured PCSO member was transported to a separate hospital.

Police didn't share any other information regarding this incident, but did say that the New York State Police are investigating the incident and that all of the information above is preliminary and subject to change as the investigation continues.
