AT&T Service Goes Down Across The US and The Hudson Valley

Cell Phone coverage has been a hot topic of discussion over the last few weeks. Back on February 22nd, 2024, cell phone service provider AT&T went down for hours leaving customers in the dark.

Calls couldn't be made or received and the internet was down for some 74,000 At&T customers. Outages were also reported with Verizon and T-Mobile users, but it wasn't as widespread as it was for AT&T.

Rumors of a cyber attack quickly spread, but AT&T shut that down. CNN reports that in a press release from the cell phone provider, they explained the outage was caused by "the application and execution of an incorrect process used as we were expanding our network, not a cyber attack.”

AT&T added in its website “We are continuing our assessment of today’s outage to ensure we keep delivering the service that our customers deserve."
