The recall was announced late last week and involves 80% ground beef purchased at the Hannaford store located at 1261 Ulster Avenue after 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15. The affected products have a sell-by date of September 19 and may contain foreign material.

According to Hannaford officials, the recall is limited to this particular store and does not affect ground beef sold at other Hannaford locations.

That means if you shop at the Hannaford at the Kingston Plaza in Kingston, your ground beef is not part of this specific recall.

Hannaford is urging customers who may have purchased the affected product to check their refrigerators and freezers to see if they still have it at home. The recalled 80% ground beef can be identified by looking at the UPC number on the package. The first six digits of the UPC will begin with either 213779 or 242214.
