This Hudson Valley spot has been voted the #1 place for celebrating birthdays, good grades, new jobs and more with residents.

Many people have a "go-to" spot where they live. I have a bit of a different perspective since I haven't lived here that long, but even back in my hometown there was always a spot we'd go to and celebrate cool things that happened for us.

I put the question up on social media and got a ton of answers, so...where is the Hudson Valley's go-to spot for celebrating?

#1 Garvan's Gastropub in New Paltz:

Garvan's came in swinging for the title, most people mentioned how they always go to here to celebrate and really enjoy the atmosphere here. Garvan's Gastropub is located on 215 Huguenot Street in New Paltz and their menu looks pretty yummy.

#2 Shadows on the Hudson in Poughkeepsie:

Shadows on the Hudson came in second for this. I have been to Shadow's multiple times and you just can't beat the view. Seriously, it looks like something out of a magazine. Shadows on the Hudson is located on176 Rinaldi Blvd in Poughkeepsie and there's a little something for everyone there.

#3 Ship Lantern Inn in Milton:

Coming in at number 3....Ship Lantern Inn in Milton. I have heard some pretty awesome things about this place. It's located on 1725 Route 9W in Milton and it does really seem like a cool place to celebrate at.

There were a few honorable mentions like Tiramisu in Hopewell Junction, Blu Pointe in Newburgh, Le Bouchon in Cold Spring and more.

Maybe this place could get turned into a cool spot someday? It once was a VERY popular hotel in the Hudson Valley, but sadly has a terrible demise. Any ideas of what Sullivan County needs and could go there?
