Hudson Valley Dog Rescue Closes It’s Doors

A Jack Russell Dog Rescue located in Rhinebeck, NY has closed its doors, quietly after 40 years of uniting Jack Russell Terriers with their new fur-ever homes. The announcement was posted on the organizations Facebook page.

Here is what the post read:

After 40 years and over 1,000 Jack Russell terriers rescued, our executive director Dale Mountan is retiring and the Rhinebeck Russell Refuge has closed. Effective today, July 16, 2017, the doors have been shuttered. Donations are still welcome until August 15th. Over the last 5 or 6 years, I have followed this organization, because of the great work that they have done. There have been dogs that I have been close to bringing into my own home. I have cheered when dogs that I had gotten to know through their website have been adopted and loved hearing about the updates of how those JRT's are doing in their new homes. I even cried when I heard about their winter time fire where many pups lost their lives and made donations to help them rebuild.

To Dale, the executive director, hats off to you in your retirement for all of the work you have done and awareness that you have brought to the breed.
