We all know that small businesses and the restaurant and bar industries continue to struggle during the COVID-19 pandemic. New York state has announced a grant program that would give some financial relief to these businesses. Here's how to apply. According to WKBW, New York state has set up a grant fund to help those restaurants across the state that are in desperate need of money because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The "Raising the Bar" Restaurant Recovery Fund has more than three million dollars available for New York state restaurants. The monies will be given out in grants to help restaurants adjust their businesses in the winter months while keeping up with the state's COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Restaurants that are applying for the grants must prove that they have had extra expenditures beginning September 1st, 2020 through now. They will have a chance of receiving up to five thousand dollars in grant money.

New York state says that the money can be used for COVID-19 related equipment and improvements made to their restaurants to comply. Things like installing plexiglass partitions or barriers. signage that promotes washing hands and social distancing, heaters, insulated delivery bags and food warmers, PPE and sanitation supplies, contactless technology, and patio heaters.

The grants will be awarded to those restaurants based on the applications filled out to the state. To apply click HERE. Applications will start being accepted on Monday, January 11th.
