Suspect #1 is Lavelle Stackhouse and Suspect #2 is Joshua Hedrick. When Stackhouse fired, the bullets allegedly struck Hendrick in the torso and a leg. As Hendrick returned fire, Stackhouse had already started running away but a third person was struck in the confusion.

In addition to attempted murder charges, both individuals are facing second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment. Considering that all of these are felonies, the two face 25 years in prison.

So, why is this just coming together now? Stackhouse took off and was in hiding until Tuesday when he was arrested. Today he sits in an Orange County Jail. He will be back in court on December 20th. The other dude, Hendrick, also remains in the Orange County Jail. He will appear in virtual court on December 22nd.

recordonline.com reports that Newburgh and other cities across the region have an increasingly dangerous issue with gun violence. In each city, there are theories for solutions, but few have yet cracked the code.
