Deputies Respond to Over 60 Winter Weather Calls on Tuesday

It's turning out to be quite the winter here in the Hudson Valley. Let's recap, shall we?

We all know Hudson Valley winters can be brutal. The last few years we had easy going winters. With maybe 2 big storms and temperatures in the 60s. This year is a completely different story.

Last week we were hit with almost 2 feet of snow in some parts of the Hudson Valley and earlier this week we were graced with almost 6 inches of the white stuff.

Not the be the bearer of bad news, but there is still plenty of snow in the future forecast for the Valley. With storms being predicted for Valentine's Day on Sunday, February 14th and Tuesday, February 16th.

If you have to go out in winter, slushy weather take it slow or just don't go out on the roads at all.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office is reminding drivers to be careful on the slippery roadways. In a Facebook post shared on Wednesday, February 10th, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office shares that they responded to over 65 calls to assist motorists involved in accidents.

In a statement they wrote:

Our Deputies assigned to the day shift handled a total of 70 calls for service and rendered aid to 17 motorists who were involved in a motor vehicle accident or stuck in the snow during this winter event. With snow still falling in most parts of Dutchess County, please drive safe if you must be on the roads!
