This Is When The Hudson Valley Is Decorating For The Holidays
A lot of us feel the same way, we are wondering how it’s November! Personally, I feel as if it was just July and we were soaking up summer.
However, the holiday season is upon us. It’s a great time of year for several reasons. We can look forward to celebrating special moments with friends, family and co-workers.
What Can We Look Forward To During The Holiday Season In The Hudson Valley?
Sometimes I think about warm summer days filled with beautiful, lush green grass and trees that surround us in the Hudson Valley. The smell of flowering blossoming, seeing butterflies along with lightning bugs are some things I love about summer.
While I’m always in a summer state of mind, there is a part of me that also loves the holiday season. There seems to be a sense of magic and kindness during the holidays. We find ourselves celebrating the joy of the season with those around us and giving gifts to show our love.
In the Hudson Valley, we can attend tree lightings, holiday markets, drive-thru light displays and have dinner with Santa. Outdoor enthusiasts can go ice skating, sledding and more.
In addition to attending festive events, we can also shop local and get great gifts for our favorite people (pets too!).
We Can Shop Local For The Holiday Season In The Hudson Valley
While we can attend holiday markets to get festive gifts, we can also support local businesses in the area.
Canal Towne Emporium is located in Wurtsboro. NY. They are a country store that also sells Christmas items year round.
Adams Fairacre Farms have several locations throughout the Hudson Valley. Mainly known as being a gourmet grocery store, they truly have everything under the same room. It’s a great place to get something for everyone in your life. Adams has themed gift baskets, a gift shop, plants section and more.
Before we hop into the holiday shopping, let’s see when the Hudson Valley community will be decorating.
This Is When The Hudson Valley Is Decorating For The Holidays
I know some Hudson Valley residents that started to decorate for the holiday season the day after Halloween. There are others who wait until they get closer to the upcoming holidays to decorate.
Some may feel motivated, excited and invite others over to help decor while getting into the holiday spirit.
It can bring people together and continue great traditions.
On 92.7/96.9 WRRV’s social media platforms, we asked the community when they were planning to decorate for the holidays. Hudson Valley residents were eager to share their thoughts.
Some of the comments included,
“After Thanksgiving (one holiday at a time)”
“The weekend before”
“The first week of December”
“Tree is up already. Decorating throughout the house in the next couple of weeks”
I love the variety of these responses! Other Facebook users also shared that they started decorating for Thanksgiving and others mentioned they aren't decorating for Christmas until New York City’s tree lighting takes place.
We would love to hear from you as well. Have you started decorating for the holiday season? When will you start? Tell us more below. Enjoy!
