With all of the cold and snowy weather we've experienced in New York state this year, residents are looking forward to warmer days.

It starts to feel like spring when we spring forward with daylight saving time. Having an extra hour of sunlight reminds us that there are brighter days ahead. At this time, I start counting down the days until spring.

When Will Spring Begin In The Hudson Valley?

Spring and summer are two of my favorite seasons. Sunny skies, warmer temps, the sound of birds chirping and feeling the fresh cut grass are things that make me happy.

I've noticed that some stores have already put out their shoes and swimwear attire.

Spring will begin on Thursday, March 2025. We can technically say that spring will begin in one month from now. Before this season starts, we spring forward with daylight saving time.

The Old Farmer's Almanac and 94.3 Lite FM have shared the spring weather prediction for the East Coast for 2025.

While these suggestions are things you can also do when Daylight Saving Time ends in Fall, these are important to also do in the spring according to Fox Weather.

1.) Be sure to clean your dryer vent and filters. During the winter, we may be using our dryer more and by spring, it may need a good cleaning.

2.) It may be time to change your air filters. I use my air purifiers and cleaners all year round. I check the filters on these air purifiers often as it can collect things during each season.

3.) When was the last time that you replaced the batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors? This friendly reminder is essential in our homes and garages.

4.) This reminder goes along with spring cleaning. Be sure to clean your curtains and drapes. In the warmer months, we may see pollen in our homes with the winter open. However, in the cooler months our curtains may collect dust and more.

5.) Our furnace and water heaters may be pumping out more warm water in the winter. Relaxing epsom salt baths in the cooler months are one of my self care routines and this is a great reminder to make sure everything is running properly.
