On December 1, 2023, the Snowflake Festival happened in Uptown Kingston, NY. Those who visited were able to see Santa, watch the tree lighting, take in the beauty of ice carvings and more.

This free event allowed festive residents and visitors to soak in the holiday season in a historic, Hudson Valley city. Local businesses were open for guests to pop in and warm up, along with grabbing goodies and seeing what was in store.

Along with this free, annual event in Uptown, Kingston, NY, this city has more holiday gifts to give to those in the area.

How Is The City Of Kingston, NY Making Holiday Shopping Cheaper For Visitors?


As a gift from them to us, the city of Kingston will offer free 2-hour holiday parking. This means that parking meters and municipal lots will be free for up to 2 hours.

The City of Kingston shared, 

“To help support local businesses this holiday season, once again the City of Kingston is offering free two-hour parking in the municipal lots and metered spaces,” said Mayor Noble. 

 

“We hope this parking amnesty period will encourage residents and visitors to shop in Kingston’s unique stores and dine at our many wonderful restaurants.”

The free 2-hour holiday parking in Kingston, NY will take place from Saturday, December 9, 2024 through January 1, 2024.

While local residents and visitors accept their gift of free 2-hour holiday parking, the city parking staff will take on different responsibilities.

The City of Kingston shared, 

"During this time, City parking staff will focus on meter repair and routine maintenance but will issue safety violations such as blocking fire hydrants, parking in handicap spots, double parking, and expired inspections. "

They also wanted to remind the public,

"Vehicle owners must observe all traffic and parking rules and park in legal spots. "

Starting January 2, 2024, the city of Kingston included that regular enforcement of their parking meters will resume.
