Amazon Set To Get Massive Tax Break In New York
One of the biggest online retailers in the world is set to get a multi-million dollar tax break for building a new facility.
According to the New York Post, Amazon is set to get around $124 million dollars in tax breaks when they build a new facility in Niagara County.

This would be one of the biggest tax subsidies ever received by Amazon and the county is hoping the tax break will help move along plans by Amazon to build a half of a billion-dollar facility in the region.
The plan is for Amazon to build a 216-acre warehouse that great around 300 temporary construction jobs during construction and then over 1,000 permanent warehouse positions when the building is up and running.
The tax subsidy would be paid for by taking some of the tax revenue set aside for the Niagara Wheatfield Central School District and using it to help Amazon with the construction of the new warehouse.
Amazon had made a similar deal in Erie County where the company got $7 million in tax breaks to build a huge 181,500-square-foot building in Hamburg. The building was completed in March, but Amazon still has not activated that facility yet.
Besides tax breaks and subsidies, there are other possible benefits offered to businesses of all sizes some incentives to bring more business and job opportunities to Western New York.
