80% Chance of Snow For the Hudson Valley Monday Into Tuesday

Spring has officially sprung and temperatures will reach over 70 on Friday in the Hudson Valley, but snow is in the forecast for the region early next week.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the last thing most in the Hudson Valley wants to deal with is snow. Well, unfortunately, there's an increasing chance most of the region will see snow next week. On Thursday, there was a 50 percent chance of snow. As of Friday, meteorologists believe there is a 70 percent or 80 percent chance of snow Monday into Tuesday.

The Weather Channel says there is a 70 percent of snow for the region Monday into Monday night. The Weather Channel is predicting 5 to 8 inches of snow for Sullivan County, 3 to 5 inches of snow for Ulster County and 1 to 3 inches of snow for Orange and Dutchess counties.

Hudson Valley Weather says snow will possibly be heavy Monday afternoon with snow tapering off around midnight. Hudson Valley Weather has yet to post a snow total prediction but writes on its website on its five-day forecast "Moderate/Significant snow accumulation possible."

As of this writing, the National Weather Service believes there is about an 80 percent chance of snow for Monday morning and about an 80 percent chance of snow and rain Monday afternoon until around midnight.  As of this writing, the National Weather Service hasn't predicted snowfall totals.
