Sun Glare to Blame in Accident?
According to the Daily Freeman, sun glare could be what caused a driver in Kingston to accidentally hit a 7-year-old pedestrian.
The child, who was walking with their mother in a pedestrian crosswalk on Boulevard Street near Stewart’s Shops in uptown Kingston was struck by a pickup truck at approximately 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, January 8th. What is Sun Glare?
If you've never experienced sun glare consider yourself lucky because it is scary to encounter while behind the wheel.
It happens when the sun's rays reflect off of shiny surfaces, like vehicle windshields, and into your eyes. When it happens it can often obscure your vision, make it hard to see objects and judge distances, and slow your reaction time.
The accident remains under investigation and when more information becomes available we will update this article.
