
Arrests Made in the Heartbreaking Case of Missing Upstate New York Man
Three people have been arrested after law enforcement uncovered the remains of a 69-year-old man who was reported missing earlier this month in Upstate New York.
Earlier this week, the Greene County Sheriff's Office announced on Facebook that it was investigating a report of a missing 69-year-old man from Cairo, NY.

The GSCO said that Roger Pitt Sr. was reported missing by family members who said that he left his home in the town of Cairo on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025, at approximately 10 a.m. and hasn't been heard from since. At the time, members of the family told police that Pitt Sr. had gathered his belongings and left the area, driving a 1987 Mercedes-Benz. The Sheriff's Office released the license plate number of the vehicle, along with a picture of Pitt Sr., asking anyone with information to contact them.

Following the report, they began an investigation that led to shocking allegations.
Missing Man Remains Found in Greene County, NY
The GSCO has confirmed the arrest of three people after its investigation revealed that the initial reports made by Roger Pitt Sr.'s family members were not consistent with the findings of investigators. The inconsistencies resulted in the GSCO conducting several searches in the area, which uncovered the remains of the missing man.
The Sheriff's Office didn't say what the cause of death was, but did say that the remains were found on the family's property.
Three Arrested in Connection to Missing Man
46-year-old Rodney Pitt and 23-year-old Drew White, both of Cairo, NY, were arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder, tampering with evidence, and concealment of a human corpse. 43-year-old Tania Pitt was charged with tampering with evidence. All three suspects were arraigned in the town of Coxsackie Court. Rodney Pitt and Drew White were sent to the Greene County Jail without bail. Tania Pitt was released and is due back in court at a later date.
