This New York Baseball Tradition Is Changing in 2025 Too
What a time to be a Yankee fan. 2024 ended with plenty of heartbreak after the Yankees made it to their first World Series appearance since 2009, but then (pretty much) fell apart once they got there.
2025 didn't start off much better, when Juan Soto signed with that team across town, in the biggest contract in sports history. However, the past few days, there have been some exciting changes from the Yankees franchise, giving fans hope for a great season ahead.

Beards Are Back In The Bronx
In somewhat of a shocking announcement last week from the Yankees organization, and for the first time since 1976, New York Yankees players and 'uniformed personnel' are permitted to have 'well groomed beards.'
The announcement came straight from the Managing General Partner's mouth, with Hal Steinbrenner sharing that the team was going to allow their players to sport well-groomed beards' moving forward, a welcome loosening of the strict grooming policy that the team has followed for nearly five decades.

Sinatra Switch Up At Yankee Stadium
Days later, somewhat of another change-up for Yankee fans, as it was confirmed that the Yankees will no longer play this iconic Sinatra song after losses at the stadium.
Over the weekend, following a spring training loss to the Detroit Tigers, the Yankees debuted a new 'exit' track, instead of playing the legendary song the've been playing since 1980 - 'New York, New York,' they opted for another Sinatra track, 'That's Life.'
According to an article in the New York Times, a Yankees representative confirmed the change:
We will be rotating through a number of different songs after a Yankees loss this year, none of them will be 'New York New York.'
With a new song playing as fans exit the stadium following a loss in the Bronx, will it still feel like a true New York Yankees experience?
