Commuters in the town of Newburgh, NY saw a flurry of activity on Wednesday when emergency vehicles from multiple agencies all responded to an early morning emergency.

"At 8:45am, Cronomer Valley was dispatched to a reported Car Fire threatening a structure", began the post from Cronomer Valley Fire Department (CVFD) on Facebook (below). Photos show the totality of the flame's damage.
The vehicle, which was mere feet from a building, seemed to be threatening to spread further. CVFD shared that thanks to combined efforts with Plattekill Fire Department, Goodwill Fire Department and Middle Hope Fire Department, the blaze was safely contained.
Volunteer Opportunities with Cronomer Valley Fire Department
CVFD also used the opportunity to invite residents curious about volunteering at the department to stop by the firehouse, located at 296 N Plank Rd in Newburgh, on Monday or Wednesday evenings. As many residents learned last month, the fire department goes far beyond responding to emergencies.

In December, the CVFD treated residents to a spectacular evening at Chadwick Lake Park with a visit from both Santa and Mrs. Claus. Arriving in a CVFD truck (above), the special guests were the highlight of an evening that included a bonfire and tree lighting (below).
