I was born and raised in Mechanicville, NY and have been in radio for over 25 years. I have lived and worked on Long Island in the Hamptons, in West Palm Beach, FL, Buffalo, NY and Portland, ME. Brian and I have been together for 15 years and we love waking up the Capital Region each and every morning. I am getting ready to move back to my hometown where my 10-year-old son Ryan will attend my Alma mater. I will be getting married to my best friend, Jenn, at the end of 2021 and we are having a Disney wedding. We love everything Disney and even have a dog named Freddie after Mr. Fredrickson from the movie UP. I am a true crime junky and will watch every Law & Order SVU episode over and over again. There is a cyber scam that is circulating throughout New York state that is targeting teens. New York State Police say this catfishing scam is targeting teens on the internet. These criminals work through the teens' social media accounts pretending they are someone else and gain their trust.
Casting Info For New Yorkers on New Trout Regulations
Trout season starts this Thursday and there are a few new regulations that all anglers need to be aware of. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has come up with a new regulation plan that will allow for trout season to be year-round.

New York Burn Ban Flares up Next Week
In an effort to help prevent wildfires and pollution, the New York statewide burn ban will begin next Tuesday. It will start on March 16th and run through May 14, 2021. The Department of Environmental Conservation says this annual ban has helped decrease the number of spring wildfires that occur by forty-three percent since it began back in 2009.

SUNY Application Fees Waived for Low-Income Students
In an effort to help low-income high school seniors apply for SUNY colleges, the chancellor announced that they would be eliminating application fees. This means a single student can apply to up to seven SUNY schools and in turn, save three hundred fifty dollars in application fees.

Finally, we have some guidelines as to which events we can attend. The good news is we will be able to go to the Saratoga Race Course this summer. Although it won't be a full house, at least some spectators will be allowed to watch the horses run.

February Fireworks a go in Lake George
There has been a lot of events canceled because of the pandemic. It's great to see that there is something for us to do all month long because the Lake George area is holding its Winterfest. They announced that they will also be having fireworks each Saturday night.
